I want to take a moment to recognize this amazing group of people at Hugeback-Johnson Funeral Home.From the very start shortly after mom passed, my phone call with Bryan and Gayla was compassionate, sincere, and calming. She died 3 hours away from New Hampton but that didnt stop Brian from leaving home "in the middle of the night" to make certain that my sisters and I had the the comfort in knowing mom was in their care "ASAP"! Another funeral home we spoke to months before when mom went into hospice, told us "we will probably come in the morning to retrieve the body if a death occurred during the night" when we asked that very question! NOT Hugeback -Johnson...they weren't concerned at all about being "inconvenienced" in the middle of the night....they just made sure our peace of mind was the priority! Every detail about moms memorial video, to a private visitation and mass held hours away in Dubuque, to entombment and committal service at the Dubuque cemetery went flawlessly. Thankyouy Bryan, Gayla, Andy and Drew. You all set a new standard for funeral service that should we need it elsewhere in the country, I only hope they can do it half as well as your family has now shown us what we should expect form a great funeral care provider! We sat around the table with Bryan and talked and laughed and cried, and he gently kept us on task of the planning for our mother's funeral. We were heard and not rushed, and it was most definitely an important step in our grieving process. The wake services and the funeral were very specific to the life that my mom lived. Gayla put together an amazing video edited with songs and words that fit my mom to a tee. They send out brochures about every four months to help in the grieving process. There were very few tasks that we needed to do on our own and when there was, Bryan was very clear on what we needed to accomplish. He offered ideas and options, but assisted us in working through those to make the right decision for us. He was not pushy, giving us the time we needed to work through things, but also kept the discussion moving along so we could reach consensus as a group (there were 8 of us). When we had a last minute change to the tri-fold obituary, and print had already begun, Gayla acted as if it was no big deal, and they would get the change made so they could continue the printing process. I would not hesitate to recommend Hugeback-Johnson Funeral Home to my friends and family. THANK YOU!

Wasn't sure what to expect, but everything was smoothly ran and I didn't think we had to do much except our own personal touches. We have heard nothing but compliments to your facility and how beautiful everything was. I want to also comment on how beautiful the programs were, the pictures with all the beautiful verses, the banner of dad's picture, candle, the photo video. All was more than I thought it would be. Then to top it off, you took care of delivering the flowers and plants to church and took the rest to mom's house. One less important thing we didn't have to worry about. The personal touches your facility does is beyond and above what I expected. Can't say thank you enough. The less my mom, brother and I had to do at this time so we could be together and be with friends and relatives that were here and the ones that traveled the distance was important to us and you made that possible.
